Have your say on the future of Data Management for scientific research in the EU
How can we best manage the ever-growing amount of data coming from scientific research in the EU? The e-Infrastructure Reflection Group (e-IRG) is requesting input from the public to help address this important issue. The group was founded to define and recommend best practices for the pan-European electronic infrastructure efforts, and has just published a Blue Paper on data management for public consultation.
The Blue Paper provides an assessment of Europe’s e-Infrastructure service portfolio, and identifies the opportunities and challenges involved. It reports on current trends and issues and sets out policy recommendations for several key areas, especially for ESFRI (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures) projects.
Several members of the EUDAT team contributed to the paper, which identifies the most important areas of data management and addresses the following topics:
• Data e-Infrastructure,
• Reliability and Replications,
• Unified Access and Interoperability, and
The paper makes recommendations that are aimed at ensuring that e-Infrastructure tools and resources are developed in a global context to support researchers’ global endeavours.
The blue paper is now ready for your input. Please download the paper here:http://www.e-irg.eu/publications/blue-papers.html
and submit your response by the 5th of September at the latest.
