This post was made earlier to the "Useful Links" discussion board but I have decided to report it here.
This guide gives an overview of the ARDC Party Infrastructure, which provides unique, persistent, identifiers for people and organisations described in Research Data Australia. This guide explains the purpose of the infrastructure, how it operates at a high level, and answers questions that ANDS partners are likely to have about it. It is addressed to ANDS partners considering using the Party Infrastructure to enhance the quality of the party information published to Research Data Australia.
ARDC = Australian Research Data Commons The projects that are part of ARDC are listed at: http://ands.org.au/funded/ardc-projects.html, but you're right, I couldn't find a good introduction on the ANDS website.
You can find an introduction to the Australian Research Data Commons in the ANDS Guide ANDS Discovery Services and the Australian Research Data Commons. This is located at http://ands.org.au/guides/discovery-ardc.html.
