Ryan Scherle presented on the Dryad Data repository on Wednesday, September 26; a question was asked about importing records from Dryad to EndNote. EndNote is used widely in CSIRO, so I followed up by doing a test in Dryad: • I did a fairly simple search and retrieved a couple of records • I opened one of these and clicked Cite, then clicked RIS, and saved the resulting file • I opened EndNote, and imported the saved file using the Reference Manager (RIS) import option • The record imported with Reference Type=Computer Program (N.B. EndNote does have a Dataset Reference Type); the DOI is correctly importing to the DOI field • The resulting citation does not include the DOI, so the output style would need to be tweaked to include it (I’ve selected Vancouver; other styles may include the DOI as standard, but I haven’t checked)
The attached document has some screenshots. Happy to discuss further Anne
