Hello,

A member from the Islandora team will be in Brisbane November 19-21st to attend the CAIRRS Community Day and give a demo on the 19th. We are looking to gauge whether there would be an interest from the wider community to learn more about the Fedora/Islandora/Drupal repository system at this time.

Islandora is an open source project created at the University of Prince Edward Island in Prince Edward Island Canada. Islandora is designed to address the six major issues facing the utilization and stewardship of data: privacy, security, retention, processing, ownership and integrity.

To take a look at the Islandora platform and it's documentation go to:
http://islandora.ca/

If you'd like to test out how working with Islandora feels, you can to ingest, add metadata, make collections and test out other functionality at : http://sandbox.islandora.ca/

If you have an interest in finding out more about Islandora and talking to someone who's worked with it in-depth, please respond to this or email me at kathleen@discoverygarden.ca

Hello everyone,

While there has not been enough interest to hold an entire Islandora Camp, we are arranging for one on one meetings with David on the 21st of November in Brisbane to discuss the Islandora framework, our upcoming IR solution and any other information you might want.

If this is of interest to you, please contact me at kathleen@discoverygarden.ca

Cheers!
